So it's new years...

Better record something thoughtful and profound.

Nope. I got nothing.

But I did find this crazy old picture of Midnight Oil from back in the day at my friends brothers place in Geelong last Friday... check out Peter Garret. I really would love to have the opportunity to sit him down and say... 'hey there was this awesome powerful band that isn't around anymore but they might inspire you if you have a listen to some of their old tunes...' and play him 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Diesel and Dust and a few others... He is an orator and a poet and somehow he has lost his power... how does that happen? Is it the Labour party that did it to him or has the change of scene caused him to have a crisis of confidence? Check out the power... the self assured peace in his face.



I have no idea what was going through Rob Hirst's mind for this shot...

Why, Peter, why. But then what happened to all of our younger, idealistic selves. Make one wrong decision and you're trapped for good?

Or maybe he's just a tool.

Unfortunately Pete found that in politics, unless you're a dictator there's a thing called compromise. I'm betting he feels like he's sold his soul right about now....

Poor Pete. Can we tell him? I was so excited when he made that comment before the election about changing everything when they came into power... sigh...

Yes 'everything' was a big call. Would everything include his hair? He should never go back to the long blond hair - that was never a good look. Alas, will be away this weekend. Work in Melb, live in Gee. Next time you're down shoot us an email. Hizzar.
