He has been Mr Grumpy pants himself since we moved. Putting my Oprah hat on for a moment I would say he is feeling a bit insecure about the choices I've been making, mainly moving house again, and has felt the need to take control of the bus. You know, regular doggy dominance behaviour... yelling at me to drive faster when we are in the car, telling me to get out of bed at 2 am so he can go sniff stuff in the yard, trowing rubbish about the kitchen when we are out...
I'd forgotten to take him to somewhere familiar and reassure him. We hadn't been down the lake for a couple of months. Living in Downer I'd take us off towards Mt Majura or somewhere closer to the Northside. But the new place is 5.5 kms from the lake and we can go down there for a quick walk most afternoons.
He loves it there. He runs around barking at the birds - I'm sure they feel no need to fear him. They fly about 1 ft higher than his nose along the ground in front of him and he runs only fast enough not to catch them

Cute pooch. Life is always better with a woofa - even with the 2am wake up calls. I will be looking into buying a fur-child soon.
It is better! They do force you to get over yourself! Maybe that should be advice to my younger self - get a dog!
What kind of dog will you get? From the lost dogs home or something a little more refined?
Medium to large sized woofa. Something you can wrestle with. Where from? No idea, but lost dogs is always worth a look.
it is! I found Pilot in the under $50 of less free ad section of the Trading Post. He knew as soon as I walked in that he was coming home with he. He practically climbed into my pocket! My only advice would be to let the dog choose you - they know stuff we don't.
